 | Charlie Barley was set up from a spare bedroom selling Charlie Barley (CB) garments to shops like ours. The same designs are still with us, such as the 'Wheels on the Bus', and the CB collection still mainly focuses on baby wear. However, the CB range just keeps expanding and we still sell CB to other shops in both the UK and aboard. In 2004 we wanted to open a CB shop in Brighton, selling the complete Charlie Barley collection and other international brands that were not being sold in Brighton. All the brands we sell are exclusive to us and are ethically produced.
Our aim is to offer a diverse range of products for 0 to 8 year olds that are unusual, fun and have that wow factor. We know our customers want to buy something that is a little bit different and stylish, but don't want to pay the earth for it. So, as well as stocking known brands, we actively look for interesting and different brands from around the world and our product range is constantly evolving.
We have deliveries every 2-3 weeks, which is unusual, so there is always something new in. We also focus on selling a wide selection of clothing for boys – as mums and dads know, shopping for boys is hard.
Like you we are also very price conscious. Some of our brands are more reasonably priced than well known stores and we ensure our designer brands are very competitively priced. Like for like, we are never knowingly undersold and hope to keep it that way.
All our goods have been specifically chosen by us for their quality, practicality, and uniqueness or sometimes just because it looks so cool. We are also aware of stocking products that can be machine washable.
